The first of many christmas cards

I made this for a swap on EB .

There is every possibility I am going to use it for my blog swap too as the groups don't cross over at all, and I really do like it!

I CASEd it from somewhere, but for the life of me can't remember where!

And the winner is....

ROBYN!!!!!!!
Congratulations!
It was close, the three entries were all very good. Lots of technique used, good use of colour matching, and accessories. Robyn won out with her use of a different folding technique, and I loved the sponging, and the use of the hodgepodge frame with mustard backing just peeking out to tie it all together.
Funnily enough, out of all the images, you all used the same one!
Thanks girls,
Cass

Project: A year of cards

I have seen this project done in heaps of places, and decided it was time to try it for myself. My friend is celebrating a birthday today, and I though this would make the perfect gift. Instead of stamping the pages I took the opportunity to use up some scraps of DP I had.

You can find a tutorial for this project here.

I did a workshop for Lauri (hi!) earlier this week. It was such fun watching the girls oohh and ahh over two step stamp stampin'!

These are the two projects we made, CASEd from the 2007/2008 Idea Book & Catalogue. I still reference this whenever I am creativly challenged!

Amazing how all the different greens and reds come together. Lots of ideas for christmas!

The great Christmas card swap!

Well, the idea seems to be getting wings, so let's go ahead and do it!

I am hosting our first annual Christmas card swap.

The rules:

- Can use any brand products - doesn't have to be all SU!
- Can join more than one swap group, but must make different designs for each group, and must be able to meet swap commitment
- Cards to be A5 size
- Must use at least one embellishment as well as stamped images (eg brads, eyelets, ribbon, hodgepodge etc)
- This is an even swap, and we will be making two designs per person, so there will be 5 per group, and you will make 10 cards (2 designs), send eight to me, and keep two yourself. You will then get eight different ones back.
- All cards must be to me before Nov 1. They will be posted out to all and sundry that same week. Remember to include a SSAE with enough postage to get cards back.
- All cards must contain inserts, and be blank for future use.

I think that is all, simple really! No limit on colours, layouts etc, but card must be Christmas themed.

If you wish to participate, leave a comment here. Open to Australian residents only.

I'll go first!

GROUP ONE

1. Cass
2. Robyn
3. Lesley
4. Lauri
5. Carole

GROUP TWO

1. Cass
2. Kim
3.
4.

Special Sunday - a cardstock giveaway!

Hi everyone,

Today's giveaway is 2 A5 sheets each of real red and glorious green cardstock. These will fit in nicely with the christmas theme we have got going.

Speaking of christmas - I am thinking about doing a christmas card swap with my blog girls - what do you think? Basically there would be 6 or so in a group and we make 6 of the same card, send 5 of them to me and then you'll get 5 different ones back (you keep one of your own). Let me know if you think it will be a goer.

You all know the SS rules - first five australian residents who are not part of the Stampin' Up! family. Lesley, if you haven't sent your papers in yet, then you had better get in quick - not many Special Sunday's left for you!

No posts for a week :O

I'll have to put myself in the naughty, time and creatively challenged corner!

This has been another week of restless nights, hospital visits to see mum and tantrums. I'll let you guess which family member fits into which category ;)

I have been creating today. I am doing a recipe card swap with the EB (http://www.essentialbaby.com.au/) scrap girls, and cards have to arrive at designated swapper by the 21st. September's theme is drinks, and I have chosen Sangria as my recipe.

Here is my card...

Side one:

Side two:

What do you think? Do you feel inspired to whip up a jug of cool iced Sangria on one of these balmy spring days? I know I do lol

Onto other things...

I received the first entry into my Sassy Stems competition. You have to be in it to win it, and thus far Carole is going to win by default! Give her some competition girls!!

Here is Carole's card -

If you wish to enter but don't have this stamp set, then don't despair. Simply email me and I'll pop some images into the post for you. Have to be quick though, entries end soon...must check when...

Happy Stampin'

Some good ol' fashioned stamping!

I got the stamping bug (as well as a darn cold!). I am trying to use some of the sets I haven't used at all since I got them (sad, but true!). I pulled out Springtime Stems for this one, I LOVE this set all over again. I also used riveting. I have used it so much lately that it hasn't left my desk lol

This second one I just thought was sweet. I am seriously low on cards, and have a flurry of birthdays coming up, so thought I had better get moving on some cards!

I was in a pink passion mood - can you tell?!?

Em's new shoes!

She wanted to see them on my mummy's email, so here they are, just for you baby!

A new competition announcement!

It seems time for a new competition, don't you think?

I am making this competition all about Sassy Stems. It seems to be a simplistic set - stamp, colour, assemble, but I am sure there can be more to it than that!

My Sunday girls from yesterday, your images are on their way to you already. For everyone else, if you wish to participate and don't have the stamp set Sassy Stems, email me admin@cassandragrambau.com.au and I will send you some stamped images.

Now, I recognise there are some limitations in using pre-stamped images, and I do take this on board when considering your entry.

Rules of the game:

- All products must be Stampin' Up!
- You can submit one item only, of your choice (be it OTP, scrapbooking or cardmaking, the only limit is your imagination)
- By submitting your entry you agree for me to display it as I choose in any format and medium I choose. You will always be credited as the creator. If you don't agree, please don't enter.

Entries MUST be in by Wed 26th September. Entries received after that date will be ineligible for the prize. Which is......

.....

.....

A stamp set! The winner will receive the stamp set 'Warmest Regards'.

Judging criteria:

- Use of image/s
- originality
- technique
- colour
- construction

This is not a game of chance, it is one of skill. I will ask that you complete a short questionnaire to give me an idea of how long you have been crafting, and where your interests lie. This will assist me in choosing the winner, as it will not necessarily be someone who has loads of talent or experience, it might be someone who has just started, but has made their entry well, and with originality.

Entry is open Worldwide, but please be sure to leave plenty of time for your entry to arrive if you are posting from outside Australia.

Happy Stampin'!!

Offer open to first five Australian residents to leave a comment here. Not available to other SU! demonstrators.

No pictures!

I came to my own blog as I do from time to time and realised how boring it looks - there are no pictures on the front page except for the notebook riiiiggghhht down the bottom.

So, I thought I'd show you what I've put together for a workshop I have on Monday. (Lesley, close your eyes!!)

Here is the 6x6 layout:

and here is the card:

The children are killing each other upstairs, so that is all for now, but at least there is something new to look at :)

World Card Making Day

It's true - there really is a whole day dedicated to making cards - WOOHOO!!!

World Card Making Day was started in 2006 as National Card Making Day by Paper Crafts magazine in an effort to bring card makers together to celebrate the creativity of handmade cards, the special creative connection they bring to family and friends and to get a start on the card making for the holiday season.

It is held on the first Saturday of each October.

I am happy to tell you that Stampin' Up! is a silver sponsor of World Card Making day, which fits right in with our philosophy - 'to share what we love and to love what we do...in this we make a difference'

For more information on World Card Making day visit http://www.worldcardmakingday.com/ and to participate in a World Card Making day event in your area, please visit http://www.stampinup.com/ or email me admin@cassandragrambau.com.au

I will be holding an event here on the Gold Coast, I'll post details closer to the time.

For all my long distance customers, you don't have to miss out - if you want to take part in World Card Making day, email me and I'll give you details on how you can stamp with the rest of us.
