Name my team competition!

I have had a couple of emails from people who have been unable to find my competition post, so I am bumping it up to here. As posted originally...

Okay, this is a bit self-centred, but it is my blog and I'll brag if I want to...

I have just promoted to supervisor!!

I am excited lol Thanks to my team and my customers for helping me get there!!

One of the benefits of being a Supervisor, is that I can now name my team.

To celebrate, I am launching a new competion. To enter, simply submit your suggestion for a name for my new team. You can enter as many times as you like, and if I choose your name, then you will win a pack of flirty ribbons from the summer mini. Be aware that any team name you submit might be used, so please don't submit anything you actually don't really want used. Leave me a comment on this post, comp closes 7th January

My first four cards

I have had the set Bugs & Kisses for months and months and never known what to do with it!
I cruised the gallery over at splitcoast, and now have an overabundance of inspiration!

Now a close up...

Kids cards for Ronald McDonald House

Hi everyone,

I am putting the call out for donations of kids cards, or cardfronts or stamped images that I can easily put together for Ronald McDonald House. I am also asking for matching bookmarks to go inside the cards as a small gift for the children. The bookmarks would need to be 14x4cm, and stamped. They do not need to be heavily embellished, I can add ribbons and fibres to the tops when they arrive if necessary.

The staff at RMH take the cards and give them to the sick children on their birthdays, and it really brings a smile to the kids' faces when they receive a card that is handmade with love.

I make some every so often, and send them on, and this time I thought I would include you all. I know we are all having a busy holiday season, but if you could take the time to stamp some images, make some cardfronts, or some cards to bring a smile to the children's faces, it would be appreciated all round.

You can send them to me, and I will forward them on.

Just because...

...I am in the stamping mood today, here is another card I just threw together. Simple, understated...everything this new stamp set of mine (thanks SS!) calls for...

(excuse the bad pic, Jack took the batteries from my camera to put in his cricket bat, so I had to scan it!)

Another 'new' technique!

This one is usually done in black and white, but that didn't seem very practical to me when it comes to card giving, so I made it in purple and white.

I used a colour combo I haven't played with before, but the colour wheel said it would work...and it did!

Reflection Technique

There have been so many cool techniques that I have seen through the year, so I have decided instead of just looking through them saying 'wow', I would start to give them a go. I need some 'oomph' back in my crafting, and this was just the way to start.

I have used pumpkin pie, whisper white and ballet blue cardstock, pumpkin pie, ballet blue and blush blossom watercolour crayons, seaside sketches, background basics and everyday flexible phrases stamp sets, stazon black inkpad, aqua painter, a sheet of acetate and some hessian that I had in my odds and ends box.

For the christmas table

I found these little tins in the corner of my local 'supermarket' the other day. They were labelled as coffee jars and were $2 each. Immediately I saw potential, so I bought a few. The lady at the register asked me what I was going to do with them and I told her I was going to alter them for gifts. She thought it was a great idea, and so did I!

I am going to use them as place settings/gifts for the adults on the big day. I have covered the outside with Holiday Thyme paper (no longer available - glad I bought up big!) and stuck it down with JAC paper (double sided sticky paper). I could have used sticky strip, but wanted something that would cover the whole surface. I then used some olive organdy and cream grosgrain to embellish.

Inside are some little bags of pot pourri that I picked up for $2 each as well. I thought they matched the SU! colours pretty well!

The Sanctuary was great fun!

We had so much fun this morning at the wildlife sanctuary. We saw all sorts of animals - wombats, lorikeets, dingoes, crocodiles, snakes, lizards, koalas...the list is endless! I got to feed the lorikeets (at least I think that is what they were!) and pat a baby crocodile.

Here are a couple of pics of our day...

Me

Emma and the Kangaroo

The other kids wouldn't pat the animals, so no cute pics of them this morning!

Sale-A-Bration

Sale-A-Bration is fast approaching, and I have just mailed out SAB brochures to everyone on my mailing list.

If you received a summer mini from me, you are on the list. If you didn't, and would like to be, then email me your postal details and I will get one out to you.

More information is out in this week's newsletter, so make sure you are signed up!

Reindeer Food

This is great fun for the kids...

The poem reads:

Reindeer Food

Sprinkle on your lawn at night

The moon will make it sparkle bright

As Santa's reindeers fly and roam

The food will guide them to your home

Christmas Bows

I have seen these so many places that I decided I just had to try them.

Reading through the tutorial I thought it seemed quite hard, but it was SO easy that I am going to make more to use as decorations on my tree and around my home.

My love affair with the Holiday Thyme papers continues...

Each one only uses 1/2 sheet of 12x12 DSP, so they are fun AND cheap!

Tutorial can be found here.

Remember the Holiday Thyme papers are only availabel until Dec 15th, so get in soon before Thyme is up!

O Christmas Tree...

Something I just finished :)

Another one of those 'looks better in person...' type items, but it was (fairly) quick, and will look beautiful on our dining table on Christmas day!

I am still loving the Holiday Thyme papers. I am on to my last pack, so will be ordering more this week before the promo runs out :O
