Get well wishes

Got a phonecall from mum asking me to make her a get well card for a friend (what a relief to not be making one for mum! Hope her friend is feeling better soon.)

I think I CASEd this from Lesley, will let you know once she loads it to her blog!

I tried a new technique this time, water-spritzing. I don't know what the techincal name for it is, but I applied watercolour crayons direct to rubber, spritzed the rubber with water (I used an empty Stampin' Mist bottle filled with tap water) and then stamped it onto watercolour paper. I then spritzed the paper lightly with water also. Last thing was to use my aqua pen to draw in some of the colour on the flower. I accidentally used my bleach pen (note to self: READ THE LABELS!), but it didn't matter this once!

Materials used:

River Rock cardstock

Always Artichoke cardstock, ink and watercolour crayon

Rose Red cardstock and watercolour crayon

Watercolour Paper

Very Vanilla cardstock

River Rock double stitched ribbon

Oh So Lovely stamp set (level 1 hostess set)

Fun and Fast Notes (greeting. I mount my images and greetings seperately so I can use them both easily)

Very Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon

Labels:

Garden Whimsy...again!

I'm sure you're getting a theme here...I adore Garden Whimsy, and I LOVE our new In Color's.

This card took far longer to make than it should have, I just could not get it right. Then, as often happens, I suddenly threw it all together in the space of about ten minutes.

The textured cardstock makes such a difference, I am really pleased to have it in the new catty.

And, at Robyn's request, I have used our In Color's.
Is my photography getting any better? I tried a new trick today!
Materials:
Soft Sky textured cardstock
Blue Bayou cardstock and ink
Whisper White cardstock
Groovy Guava cardstock and ink
Paper piercing tool and mat
scallop punch
corner rounder punch (to make scallop edge)
1-3/8" circle punch
1-1/4" circle punch
Garden Whimsy stamp set
short and sweet stamp set

What would you like to see today?

Hello dear readers :)

I have a child free day today, which I did not think was going to happen due to the illness that has been running through my house.

So, the upshot is that I cancelled all my plans, and now have a stamping day ahead of me!

My question is:

What would you like to see me make? An item? A technique? A product?

Leave a comment, or send me an email and I'll see what I can magic up - my first reader challenge!!

Greetings from Camper Cass!

Following the camping saga I am now home again!

I am so glad to have the camera back, I made this jar last night and couldn't even show you alL! Usually when I have made something I photograph it and post it straight away. I know I should sometimes hold things back for a rainy day, but I just can't resist sharing with you all.

I am forever picking up bits and pieces that I think would be perfect for a project, and seldom use them, so my goal is to make something a week from my odds box (okay, I have 4 odds boxes!)

First up is this ribbon jar. It is so pretty I will probably never use any of the ribbons in it, I'll just stare at it longingly from my desk lol I plan to make one for each colour 'group', this first jar is for the pinks and whites (the girly colours!)

Materials:

Glass Jar

Berry Bliss DSP

Choc Chip cardstock

Purely Pomegranate double stitched ribbon

Purely Pomegranate Ink

Wide Very Vanilla Grosgrain

On Board Lots of Letters chipboard

And the BLING! - pink rhinestone brad from the fire collection

Turning a 6"x6" layout into a 12"x12" page (and another sneek peek!)

I am loving playing with the 6"x6" paper pad that I mentioned in my previous post. I can't wait to make it available to all of you!

Details on the May promotion and how you can get your own exclusive 6"x6" DSP pad will be released in this week's newsletter, so be sure you are signed up! Visit my contact page and enter your email address if you haven't already.

I love it so much that I dug out a favourite photo of mine of my baby girl Emma to scrap.

Here is what I came up with...

6x6

12x12

If you are someone who gets overwhelmed with scrapping, then starting with a 6x6 and then extending it is a great idea!

I will be offline for a couple of days, so my newsletter won't go out until late Sunday.

Have a great long weekend!

Look what arrived today!

And this isn't even all of it!!!!

I forsee my Monday night will be spent with my husband cooking the dinner and me cutting up ribbon for my lovely ribbon club ladies.

I'm sure he won't mind...errr....will he?
Or will I be cutting ribbon AND stirring dinner?
Considering the kids are having frozen lasagna, there is a good chance that he will need to cook if we are to eat lol
I used to love cooking...and then came stamping...did you know though that you can combine the two? Somewhere in blog-land I saw that someone had stamped on cupcake icing :O I'll see if I can dig up the post I saw and link it to try for yourselves (mmm....cupcakes AND stamping...)
P.S If you haven't made payment for the ribbon club yet can you do so pronto so I can get these lovely ribbons out to you all? If you can't pay right now, just drop me an email and we'll sort something out :)
ALSO - can you make sure I have your postal addy too. Anyone who has been around here long enough will know how hopeless I can be at times with details lol

Garden Whimsy

I just adore Garden Whimsy!

And Purely Pomegranate!

And, begrudgingly, Groovy Guava (though I still like the c/s more than the ink, which makes no sense as they are both the same colour!)

Wild Wasabi is very quickly becoming a firm favourite also!

Hope you are all doing some happy creating today!

Whale Wishes

This card didn't turn out quite like I thought it would. It is cute, but is lacking a little. Still, I wanted to keep it simple, and I guess I managed that (I think!), so instead of staring at it for another half hour, I am considering it 'done'. It is intended to be a stand-by boy's birthday card, I think I would be okay giving it out!
Materials used:
Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Whisper White cardstock
Only Orange and Green (Galore??) markers for the fish and circle tag
Basic Black inkpad
Only Orange striped grosgrain
Silver edged circle
Whale Wishes stamp set

There is nothing I like more...

...on a wet weekend's afternoon than putting the girls down for their nap, my boys in front of the football, or the cricket, or the race cars and sitting at my desk stamping.

I have made the grand total of one card thus far, but I like it! I am LOVING the In Colour's, and the double stitched ribbon is lovely.

I CASEd this card from somewhere...just not sure where (sorry!)

Materials used:

Groovy Guava, Chocolate Chip, Purely Pomegranate, Very Vanilla and Whisper White cardstock

Purely Pomegranate and Wild Wasabi inkpads

Wild Wasabi double stitched ribbon

Thanks for your hospitality

When we went on our trip toVic we stayed with my Dad and his girlfriend for a few days.

I am finally getting around to making them something to say thanks, and I haven't done any candles in awhile, so thought this would be practical and sentimental.

The stamp set is retired, but I thought I would sneak them up here anyway :)

Cuttlebug Cards

As regular readers would know, I acquired a Cuttlebug recently. Today Lesley brought over her embossing folders and we had a play.

How easy and masculine are these cards! I always get SO stuck making masculine cards, and I put these two together in no time. I have used the cuttlebug, as well as wide vanilla grosgrain, choc chip and close to cocoa/brocade blue and night of navy cardstock, night of navy and choc chip ink, very vanilla cardstock, the scallop punch and Wanted stamp set.

Kim also came up with this card and matching envelope using the cuttlebug, rose red and pretty in pink cardstock, wide certainly celery grosgrain, pretty in pink grosgrain, rose red and certainly celery ink, Bodacious Bouquet stamp set and dazzling diamonds.

Bronc Buster and Wanted...

...are two sets I looked at in the new catty and thought 'no way!'

Lesley brought them around today to play with and now I have MORE stamps to add to my wishlist! Luckily I get them at a discount, otherwise I'd have to go and work in an office or something to support my real job!

Materials used in this great masculine card (if I do say so myself) are:

Bronc Buster
Wanted
Brocade Blue cardstock
Night of Navy cardstock
Very vanilla cardstock
Choc chip ink and chalk
Antique Gold Hodgepodge (brad)

THANKS to lesley for letting me CASE a card of hers :)

A creation from Kim

Kim (friend and upline) is guest blogging today before she goes back to Sydney tomorrow. This is a card and matching envelope she has come up with during our stamp fest this morning.

Desk Clock

I am having so much fun stamping with my girlfriends today!

Here is a desk clock I have just finished putting together. No photo in it, as it is for the market stall.

I am LOVING the Brocade papers, and at only $11.95 for 12 DOUBLE-SIDED sheets, they are an absolute bargain!
I also used some of our new rub ons (divine!), some whisper white cardstock, old olive cardstock and ink, and the letters are from a cuttlebug die.

My free rubbah!

Sorry I haven't been around to catch you all up on exciting convention news. My friend (and upline) Kim, and her 6yo son are staying with me, and in a three bedroom townhouse, 3 adults and 4 children is a squeeeeeze, so I haven't had much time to do any creating and typing!

Also, I had 20 new sets of stamps to mount (that is not a typo!), so that has been keeping my inky fingers VERY busy!

Below is my stash of free rubbah that I collected for the Sale-A-Bration period, for attending convention, for my recruit award at convention, and for leadership training at convention. (are you getting the pattern here? Stampin' Up!=free rubber=more fun=convention=recognition and rewards=free stamp sets...)

They are:
Fun and Fast Notes (a MUST HAVE from the new catty)
Happiness background (not one I thought I would like until I used it. It is surprisingly versatile!)
Occasionally
Wonderful Favourites (A bargain!)
Definining Alpha
Life definitions (a scrapbookers dream)
Garden Whimsy (another MUST HAVE)
Short and Sweet (possibly the cutest set in the whole catty)
I have a stamping day planned tomorrow, all kids will be at school and preschool, and I am getting as much housework done today as possible, so look out for my new creations!
p.s - remember that convention freebie I mentioned you could score? Leave me a comment over the next 48 hours and you will go in the draw to win a set of 4 Stampin' Up! flower magnets, available exclusively to demonstrators at Memento Mall during Convention.

I bought a bug!

Whilst visiting the craft and quilt fair on the Gold Coast yesterday I came across Cuttlebug's for $95 WITH a die and set of 4 embossing folders. A bug is something that I have wanted, but put on the backburner, but as soon as I saw them for that amazing price, I HAD to have one!

This is my first 'bug' card. I also used Regal Rose cardstock, wide Certainly Celery grosgrain (LOVING the wide ribbons - they hide a multitude of sins!), Almost Amethyst ink, and the flower is from Bud Basics. There is also a Barely Banana brad thrown in for good measure.

White is really hard to photograph, but I did my best!
