Reverse Masking

1.Stamp desired image. I have used Purely Pomegranate ink. You can use any colour, as this is just for the masking piece.

2. Cut around image using a scalpel. You could also use a punch, or other shape cutter depending on the image you have chosen.

3. When you have finished cutting around your image, you will be left with a 'negative piece', basically a hole where the image was! You will use this as your masking template. Save the image you cut out for later use if you stamped it in a pretty colour, and managed to NOT sever part of it with the scalpel.

4. Stamp your choice of image again. I have used Purely Pomegranate ink. Lay your mask over the top.

5. Using a sponge dauber (you get better control) sponge a lighter coloured ink over the top of your stamped image. I have chosen Regal Rose, as it goes beautifully with Pomegranate.

6. Final sponged image.

I chose to cut the image out, however you can also use reverse masking to create a lovely one-layer card.

After making the above card I decided it was too green, so went for the one below instead!
