Emerging Colour

I had a play with the Emerging Colour technique today at craft class.

I used Fabulous Flowers to achieve this card...

...and Season of Joy, along with an alpha, the name of which escapes me right now!

How CUTE is the rosette? Petronela came over for a play today and showed us how to make them. As soon as I saw them I knew what this card needed!

To finish off for today, I also threw together a baby card, which is a CASE of a card by Sarah Klass...

Hope your day was as fun as mine!

Happy 4th Birthday Emma!

My youngest princess turns 4 today!

I can hardly believe that my baby is 4 already. She assured me this morning that 'she is a big girl now and can cut up her own banana'. How cute is that!
I haven't seen her yet as she is at dad's, so I dug up a pic for us all to look at til she gets home :)
I am taking her toy shopping today with some birthday money she got from Poppy, Uncle Kristian and Aunty Bec. I have never let her have complete free reign in a toy store before, so this should be interesting, and definately fun!

Christmas decoration, christmas card by Carrie and calendar magnets by Nita...

I was wondering if the length of the title would give out before I would!

This is a cool christmas creation from Carrie! Using Solemn Stillness, and the greeting from Season of Joy. I believe the brayer and some embossing was involved also!

A christmas decoration I finally worked out how to make! Sooo simple, but so painful when I was working it out!!

Remember that calendar magnet thingy that you saw a post or two back? Nita came round on Thursday to craft class and made not one, but three!
I've been asked about kits for these, and am happy to make some up. Email me if you are interested.
On to other news, my little brother (not so little now at 18!) Kristian is staying with me for awhile. He has invaded the craft room, which is good as it has forced me to tidy it up which has inspired my creativity. It is going to be an adjustment all round, but I am SO excited that he has come to spend some much needed time with us.
More updates will be in my newsletter, which will go out this weekend.

From Carrie... I am beyond words...

I received this card from Carrie last week, but in the lost camera situation, I couldn't share it with you all.
Carrie is someone who came into my life via Stampin' Up!, and not only is she a valued team member, but she is a dear friend. I am so grateful for her friendship (and her husband's mechanical advice lol)
We have now known each other for very long, only a few months, but I feel as though we have known each other forever.
Apart from being a good friend, she is an awesome stamper! (can you believe she had never stamped prior to meeting me!) The photograph hardly does this card justice, but she has used the 'baby wipe' technique to get the background, and then used artfully asian for the rest of the card.
I won't tell you what she wrote inside, because it brought me to tears, but the feeling is mutual :)

Chipboard Calendar Magnet

I received these adorable calendars in the mail today (all 50 of them!) and finally got my craft mojo back! I wanted to sit down immediately and create this cute chipboard calendar magnet. I used a scrap of DSP, some red striped grosgrain, a stamp from Time Well Spent, rose red and old olive markers and a flower and centre from the die cut blossoms in the mini catty. I attached magnets to the back (I bought in bulk off ebay) and voila!
I will be making many of these for gifts of appreciation and celebration over the festive season, what a cute way to say 'I am thinking of you', or 'thanks'. I will have many more to show you I am sure, so stay tuned!

Bloomin'

I still adore this stamp set. It is perfect for watercolouring, and makes any card beautiful with little effort.

Here I have used Regal Rose, Rose Red, Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip Watercolour Wonder Crayons as well as one of the neutrals to add dimension.

To create the pot/vase (depending on your point of view!) I stamped the 'blossom' definition stamp, cut it down as shown and then sponged Chocolate Chip ink around it to
give it definition.

A perfect example of a one layer card, and the versatility of using just one stamp set!
